Reform in the City, Reform of the City

We are pleased to announce that this year's conference of the Committee on the History of Cities of the Committee of Historical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences will be held in Krakow, in cooperation with the Jagiellonian University and the Critical Heritage Studies Hub.

The main theme of this year's reflections will be the issue of reform, change and heritage, hence the adopted conference topic:

"Reform in the City, Reform of the City. The Heritage of the Past and the Idea of Change in the City of the Pre-industrial Era"

The conference will take place on May 27-29, 2024 in the Casimir the Great Room at Collegium Maius.

Traditionally, also the Young Urban Researchers Forum will be hel on May 27. This year's theme of the Forum is: "Law in the Pre-industrial City – Heritage of the Past, Tool for Modernization."

Conference Patrons: Mayor of the City of Krakow, Rector of the Jagiellonian University, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University and the Polish Society for the History of Law
