Maria Jukna, a doctoral candidate from the JU Doctoral School of Humanities, thanks to funding from the CHSH, participated in the summer school organized by Mnemonics – Network for Memory Studies.
Thanks to funding from the flagship project of the Critical Heritage Studies Hub, Maria Jukna, a doctoral candidate from the Jagiellonian University Doctoral School of Humanities had the opportunity to participate in this year's edition of the summer school in the form of a conference organized by Mnemonics – Network for Memory Studies. This year's edition, titled "Industry of Memory", took place on the premises of the institutions forming the Mnemonics network: King's College London, University of Westminster, and University of London.
The doctoral candidate presented a topic reflecting a portion of her research work titled "The difficult memory under the Authorized Heritage Discourse: The comfort women in the official narrative of South Korea." Participation in the event resulted in numerous inspirations that will materialize in the form of a scholarly article addressing the topic of the heritage authorization process.
